Another factor that can create this problem is when you log in to your VPN account with the wrong login credentials. Make sure that you are using the correct username and make sure to check the uppercase and lowercase letters in your password.
Most premium VPN subscriptions will only allow a certain amount of VPN connections. If you have connected several devices using the same service then disable the VPN on the unwanted devices and only run it on the device which is experiencing the problem.
Now check that the VPN authentication failure error windows 10 still occurs on your PC.
If you are using a premium VPN account then check that the service is paid or due. If you are using a free account then check whether the trial period has ended.
