VPN gets the authentication failed error

A VPN (Virtual Private Network) allows you to use the internet with an additional layer of security. At first, it was initially created to connect business networks securely to the internet. Today VPN is used for purposes such as bypassing geographic locations for hiding your true location. Although installing a VPN is quite easy, some certain issues can occur. In this article we talk about the VPN failed authentication error Windows 10.

If you still experiencing the problem then we recommend you to try the below steps:

Check VPN login credentials

Another factor that can create this problem is when you log in to your VPN account with the wrong login credentials. Make sure that you are using the correct username and make sure to check the uppercase and lowercase letters in your password.

Don’t exceed the number of connections

Most premium VPN subscriptions will only allow a certain amount of VPN connections. If you have connected several devices using the same service then disable the VPN on the unwanted devices and only run it on the device which is experiencing the problem.

Now check that the VPN authentication failure error windows 10 still occurs on your PC.

Check your service

If you are using a premium VPN account then check that the service is paid or due. If you are using a free account then check whether the trial period has ended.

Reinstall the VPN client

If you tried all the above steps to fix the problem then you should uninstall the VPN client and then download it from the official website.
